Every Aircraft Has Two Stories

This collection represents a personal vision of aviation — not as machinery, but as architecture, design, and emotion. Each image is created with the same technical discipline that defines the commercial work, but with complete artistic freedom. These photographs are intended to be lived with, not simply viewed.

Geometry
Aircraft designers spend years refining every curve, every angle, and every proportion. When stripped of distraction, those engineering decisions reveal something timeless. Geometry becomes beauty. Precision becomes elegance.
Light
Photography has always been about light. Remove color and the relationship between light and shadow becomes the entire language of the image.
These photographs are less about aircraft than about the way polished aluminum, composite surfaces, and sweeping forms respond to changing light.
Form
Luxury aircraft are often photographed for documentation.
Dave Koch prefers to photograph them for what they suggest.

The Artist
For more than thirty years, Dave Koch has photographed aircraft throughout North America and internationally, creating imagery for aircraft manufacturers, brokers, charter operators, aviation brands, and luxury marketing campaigns.
His commercial work focuses on aircraft sales photography, aviation marketing photography, business aviation branding, and private jet imagery.
His fine art work explores something different.
It asks viewers to look beyond the aircraft itself — to see proportion, balance, light, and design in a way that transcends aviation.
